The current protests and riots in the United States have allowed citizens from across the country to understand that racial inequality and injustice continue to prevail in our society. 

However, it is important to understand that the way to fully change our society and provide equality for African-American lives is to expose the truth within our history, highlighting the struggles and achievements of African-Americans and other people of color. By teaching our children the truth about our history, we will be able to achieve equality for future generations and provide a world in which our children do not need to fear for their lives.

The Department of Education and State Governments need to change history textbooks to show the accomplishments and achievements of all races, not just one. American society prides itself on being a country made by immigrants.

It is time to account and support all immigrants of color, especially those with lineage from Africa. We can change society by changing the way our children view American history.
